Dhari is worn by men in traditional ailan dance (ailan = Torres Strait) which portray warrior people. In dance, it is all about storytelling and celebration of our culture. Dhari is a very common motif that represents Torres Strait Islander people and can be seen on the Torres Strait Islander flag. It is also a symbol for strength of our people.
